Sleeping In Madison

For our end-of-summer excursion, Hubby Bryan and I chose, once again, to head for Wisconsin.  There’s just something about the winding roads and gently rolling hills that draw us back there again and again and again.  And while we often travel the same roads and stay in the same places, we like to throw some new destinations in the mix, too.

This time, our first destination was Madison. We’d visited there a number of years ago, but due to road construction and all the city’s one-way streets in the downtown area, we could never get where we wanted to go.

This time we were armed with Alice — our GPS — and we managed to get around a little better, although were still a big frustrated with the one-way streets.

I would not usually endorse a certain hotel chain, but have to share that our recent experiences with Sleep Inn have been excellent. The Sleep Inn brand is part of Choice Hotels International, the chain that includes Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion, etc. I would compare the Sleep Inn rooms to some of the nicer chains (Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn) and yet the price is substantially more reasonable, in most cases.

We have stayed at a Sleep Inn during two recent trips and we will go out of our way to look for one again.

So the Sleep Inn gets my endorsement — and becomes my Favorite Find — for this week.

More travel adventures tomorrow.
