Some of you frequently check in on this blog may have noticed that there were some technical difficulties today. So even though I wrote this bright and early this a.m., this is the first chance I’ve had to post it …
Hubby Bryan and I returned yesterday from what will probably be our last long-range Jeep excursion of the year. Bryan was able to get a couple of unexpected days off, so we headed over to Wisconsin, venturing through the Dells and over to Oshkosh before swinging back for a final night along the Mighty Mississippi in Red Wing.
Despite some crappy weather — which has seemed to be our curse every time we’ve tried to go anywhere in the Jeep in the last year — a good time was had by all. This time around, it seemed like we met some of the most interesting people: a firefighter and a nurse also spending the weekend in the Dells; another couple from Chicago who were honeymooning there; a guy from Brainerd who was a fellow Jeeper; a windsurfer in Oshkosh who had never heard of the Worthington Windsurfing Regatta or the Midwest Speed Quest; an older couple who, due to radiator problems, had once spent a unexpected weekend in Worthington and had good things to report.
I’ll share more about our trip tomorrow. Right now, I’ve got to catch up on four days of being absent from my desk.
